On Our Radar: Saint Laurent Jamie Tote & Louis Vuitton Hang On

What's on our radar you ask?

Saint Laurent Jamie Tote & Louis Vuitton Hang On

Every so often, a new release in the luxury world captures our attention at KYM — not because it’s arriving in our collection, but because it signals something bigger about where handbag design is headed. This August, two launches have done just that: the Saint Laurent Jamie Tote in Urban Grey and the Louis Vuitton Hang On handbag.

Saint Laurent Jamie Tote: A Modern Classic in the Making

Launched in China to mark Chinese Valentine’s Day, the Jamie Tote arrives in a new Urban Grey colourway. Actress Song Jia fronts the campaign, but the story runs deeper: the design itself nods to Yves Saint Laurent’s muse Betty Catroux, who famously transformed the silk dust bags of her Saint Laurent shoes into makeshift clutches.

The Jamie Tote builds on that spirit with soft nappa leather, diamond quilting, drawstring-adjustable sides, and the bronze Cassandre logo. Practical yet stylish, it’s designed for modern life while maintaining an archival link.

Louis Vuitton Hang On: Retro Spirit Reimagined

Louis Vuitton has revisited its 1980s Cité bag to inspire the new Hang On design. Crafted in classic Monogram canvas with structured bowling-bag lines, slim camel leather handles, and the house’s iconic padlock, the Hang On brings retro charm into a contemporary silhouette.

It’s a piece that feels instantly nostalgic — the kind of bag that bridges heritage and everyday wearability.

What KYM Thinks

At KYM, we see these launches as more than seasonal novelties — they reflect the industry’s continued fascination with heritage reinvention. The Jamie and the Hang On both prove how design houses are looking back to move forward, reworking archival codes for today’s audiences.

Our Head of Curation notes:

“We’re watching a return to subtle storytelling in handbag design. Both Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton are drawing on their archives in a way that feels intentional rather than purely nostalgic. These are the kinds of releases we’ll be talking about in years to come — and, eventually, they’re the pieces that will surface in the pre-loved market with real staying power.”

This perspective matters for our clients because what’s new today will eventually filter into resale. Understanding these early stories helps us — and you — anticipate which bags will become future classics.

We may not stock the Jamie Tote or the Hang On yet — but they’re worth noting. At KYM, we pay close attention to the wider luxury market, because it helps us curate our own collection with foresight and precision.

Spotlighting new launches reminds us that luxury is cyclical: today’s releases are tomorrow’s pre-loved treasures. And when they do appear at KYM, they’ll arrive with the context, curation, and care they deserve.
